Formal Self Storage were a new firm opening in Cheltenham when we were asked to design a site for them. On the face of it there was little to do for the site, it was much like any brochure site. This wasn’t quite the case, however, because two sections needed some bespoke coding.
Formal wanted a Javascript space checker (much like on the Big Yellow Self Storage site) that would help people determine how much space they would need. This was one of the first bits of Javascript I had done from scratch.
Secondly, Formal wanted an availability checker where people could put in the space needed and be given a choice of available units they could then enquire about. This part of the build also required a bespoke back end which allowed Formal to administer the available units themselves and process the enquiries.
